Admissions
Your path to recovery starts with a single call
Getting Started
Reaching out for help is one of the most courageous decisions a person can make, and we want that moment to feel supported — not overwhelming. At ABH Rehab, our admissions process is designed to be straightforward, compassionate, and fast. Most patients move from initial call to arrival within 24 to 48 hours.
When you call our admissions team at (626) 681-4147, you will speak with a trained coordinator who understands what you are going through. They will walk you through a brief confidential assessment, verify your insurance, and answer every question you have about what to expect. There is no pressure and no judgment — just honest guidance from people who have helped thousands of families in the San Gabriel Valley navigate this same moment.
If you are calling on behalf of a loved one, our team can also advise you on how to have a productive conversation about treatment and what role your family can play in the recovery process.

What to Bring
Packing for treatment does not need to be stressful. Here is what we recommend bringing to ABH Rehab:
- Valid photo identification and insurance card
- A list of current medications (or the medications themselves in original containers)
- Comfortable clothing for 7 to 10 days — casual, weather-appropriate layers
- Athletic shoes and clothing for outdoor activities and walking trails
- Personal hygiene items (toiletries, hair care, skincare)
- A journal or notebook (we encourage daily reflection)
- Phone numbers of family and friends (phone use during limited hours only)
- Any court or legal documents related to your treatment
Please leave at home: Valuables, weapons, outside food or beverages, and any substances. Our staff will review all belongings at check-in to ensure a safe environment for everyone. No pets are allowed on campus.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does treatment typically last?
Medical detox runs 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance and severity of dependence. Residential treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days — research published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment shows that patients who complete at least 90 days of residential care are 1.7 times more likely to maintain sobriety at the one-year mark. Outpatient programs run 8 to 12 weeks. Your clinical team will recommend a duration based on your individual assessment.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Our detox unit is staffed by physicians and registered nurses around the clock. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, medically supervised detox reduces the risk of life-threatening withdrawal complications by over 85%. We use evidence-based medication-assisted treatment protocols to manage symptoms safely and comfortably.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, WellCare, Humana, Anthem, and ComPsych. According to SAMHSA data, approximately 67% of people seeking addiction treatment have some form of insurance coverage. Our admissions team will verify your specific benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you arrive. Call (626) 681-4147 for a free verification.
Can family members visit during treatment?
Family involvement is an important part of recovery. We offer scheduled visitation on weekends. Research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse indicates that family-based interventions can improve treatment retention by up to 20%. We also offer family programming sessions where loved ones learn about the neuroscience of addiction and develop communication skills that support long-term recovery.
Do you treat co-occurring mental health conditions?
Absolutely. SAMHSA reports that 9.2 million adults in the United States have a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder. Our dual diagnosis program provides integrated treatment from a multidisciplinary team including a staff psychiatrist, licensed therapists, and certified counselors. We use validated modalities such as EMDR, DBT, and CBT to address conditions including PTSD, depression, and anxiety alongside substance use disorder.
What happens after I complete treatment?
Discharge planning begins during your first week. Our alumni program connects graduates with peer mentors, ongoing outpatient services, and community support groups throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Studies show that patients who participate in aftercare for at least 12 months have relapse rates approximately 40% lower than those who do not. We stay connected with every patient who wants continued support.
